Magazine Cover - Skate Kid

My task was to create a magazine cover for people aged 13 upwards. The genre or music they would listen to is alternative rock and rock-rap crossovers. The target audience are skater kids who have interests in pro-boarding. The large picture on the front is of a world known pro-boarder which my target audience would be familiar with. The colours used are bright and bold which attracts the reader and also relates to the theme and genre of this magazine. I chose artists which come under the genre of Rock and that may be listened to by my target audience. I changed the font around on the front cover as I wanted to keep the magazine unusual and not repeated. Lastly the advertisements on the cover for skateboards and clothing was particularly chosen as it relates closely to the genre of the magazine (Hard Rock) and the competition for skateboards is attractive to the reader as it is a one-off opportunity and could lead to an increase in sales. What I like most about the front cover are the colours as they are attractive and it brightens up the cover. Also how each element of the magazine is able to complement each other. What I would change is the over lapping of text and images in the bottom section of the magazine.
